OUR IMPACT
Every Continuum of Care is tasked with ensuring that data is collected and utilized to inform decision making to help serve individuals and families in the community that need housing and services. A Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is a local information technology system used to collect client-level data and data on the provision of housing and services to homeless individuals and families and persons at risk of homelessness. Each Continuum of Care (CoC) is responsible for selecting an HMIS software solution that complies with HUD’s data collection, management, and reporting standards.
The St. Louis City CoC reports aggregated data to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) so that HUD can better understand the impact that its funding is having on the goal of ending homelessness in the United States and can allocate the appropriate amount of funding to further that goal. The St. Louis City CoC also routinely reviews and analyzes data so that decisions can be made as to the efficacy of projects, the impact of the types of projects, and to spot gaps in housing and services.
The Institute for Community Alliances (ICA) serves as the HMIS Lead for the St. Louis City CoC and has gathered some useful information, referenced below:
