DBSA St. Louis Empowerment Center

The mission of the St. Louis Empowerment Center is to provide peer support, recovery services, and a sense of community to individuals in the St. Louis area who have experienced mental health and/or substance use disorders. Our Guidance For Goals program offers peer-to-peer case management. The Empowerment Center provides a range of amenities and activities, including a free lunch after the 11 am meeting, showers and laundry services (Monday through Friday), a television with cable, a DVD/VCR, a telephone, a computer room with Wi-Fi, a pool table, a dartboard, and a library—all free of charge.

We host daily self-help groups on-site, such as Co-Occurring Disorders, OUD/SUD, Wellness, and Recovery Focused groups. Many of the individuals we serve are unhoused, and we offer them a safe space to escape the elements. In addition to showers, laundry, and Wi-Fi, we provide a supportive community. We assist members in accessing emergency shelters, transitional housing, sober living, and treatment programs. Various community agencies are available at our center to help support the unhoused population. Our ability to network and stay informed allows us to serve our members as effectively as possible.
